The following post is the obligatory Christmas post.....obligatory bokeh, obligatory Christmas tree shot.... (I must have one, ya know?!)
There is something so calming and peaceful about a twinkling Christmas tree in the dark....
This time of year is such a magical one for me....
The spirit of giving...
of family and togetherness...
A time of excitement... seeing the twinkle in my boys' eyes when they see the Christmas tree all decorated and lights twinkling...when my oldest is excited to come down every morning to turn on the tree lights... when he delights in the countdown on the advent calendar to Christmas day
A time of traditions.... baking cookies, eating those cookies and drinking hot cocoa and mulled cider with them, decorating, reading Christmas stories, watching my favorite Christmas movies when I was a child with my boys (hoping some day they may love them like I do), listening to Christmas music, driving around looking at all of the twinkling lights while Christmas music plays....
It is a time of hope, love, happiness and joy...
of true, glorious magic.
And reflection.....
I have barely picked up my camera lately....and I feel a twinge of guilt. Like I need to be documenting my boys before they grow up before my eyes....
I have barely touched this blog....
But, when I reflect on it. I'm ok with it. It is a busy time of year...
A time where we visit with friends, where we get busy with the season...
Where kids get sick and you just don't have the time....
I've been doing a lot of living in the moment and I'm enjoying it....
It snowed 16 inches here the other day for those that do not know....I believe I took 4 pictures with my phone....
Instead, I was playing in the snow with my boys and it was so much fun! Max hated it but Owen loves it!
So...I am going to continue to live in the moment...
This may just be a season for me...for we all go through our seasons....
I'm still around and may be here now and then...
But for now, I'm going to enjoy the magic.....
My friends, may you feel the magic too.....
