It was a glorious spring day here today in Minneapolis! I decided to take Owen down to Lake Nokomis for a walk by the water. It was about 8:30 in the morning so there were few people out. The temperature was perfect (about 55 to 60 degrees) with a light breeze. It was wonderfully sunny and the robins were out chirping. The ducks were out swimming and occasionally, you could hear a fish jump out of the water. It just makes you feel rejuvenated when the weather is this perfect and you can enjoy little glimpses of nature even in the big city! The first view you see when you get to the lake is the one above. It's a pretty view of downtown.
Owen has a great time taking it all in...He loves to watch the ducks and he gets really excited when people walk by with their dogs. He starts to make a woof woof sound whenever he sees one.

Along our walk, we came across the bald eagle that perches in the same tree every morning. The eagle doesn't seem to be bothered by any people that walk by..he just seems to mind his own business!

A couple of ducks taking a morning swim...

I am not sure what tree this was but the blossoms were beautiful and deliciously fragrant! I had to take some pictures of them.

Spring is wonderful! Even if I have to endure the unfortunate side effects of spring allergies. It's worth it. ;)
Oh and I am so excited that I had to share.... My lilac bush is finally blooming for the first time since I planted it 4 years ago! I am so thrilled. :)
