Just wanted to share what has been going on in the Liester household lately (not much really!) Probably the most exciting thing was that Amy, Owen, and I went on Monday to see Michelle Obama speak at Macalester College in St. Paul. I figured we couldn't not go since she wasn't going to be that far away! Officially, it was my first political event and it was pretty cool. Al Franken greeted us at the door and Sen. Amy Klobuchar also spoke at the rally. Michelle Obama is a pretty amazing person and I'm glad we were able to go. The highlight was when we were leaving. We took the elevators because Owen was in a stroller and got out of the crazy lines of people right away (let me tell you--it pays to have a stroller--we didn't have to wait in line to get into the rally either!) As we were leaving the parking lot, police cars were lining up to escort Michelle Obama's car out. So, we waited right at the exit and her car went right past us and she waved at Amy, Owen and I. It was cool! :) Owen did well at the rally also--he liked to clap but occasionally got scared when it got too loud. Overall, it was a very fun and interesting experience! The only downfall is I didn't have a camera so I took some with my phone and they are of very poor quality (especially of Michelle Obama--I can't get it any bigger!) But, you get the idea....

Michelle Obama! Can you tell??

Other than that, not too much for anything super exciting going on around here. This past weekend Tom was camping in the BWCA (crazy, I know) so it was me and the O-man all weekend. Luckily, Katie and her friend AJ came and visited Saturday through Sunday so that was really fun. We also had the pleasure of visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Liester on Sunday as well. Lots of visitors! Owen, of course, loves all of the attention! I am glad we had so many visitors because I think he gets bored with me sometimes!
The only other pictures I have taken recently are of the Mississippi River from the bridge going to Highland Park (gorgeous during the fall!), Owen swinging at Minnehaha (his favorite hobby) and Owen reading books to his monkey. I am glad I caught him doing this--it was so cute. He would pick out a book--grab his monkey and set his monkey in his lap and start reading. Adorable! Well, that's all for now--gotta go relax a little! Oh--one other thing--we had a showing last night and a second request showing is happening on Sunday! Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Also, here are a few pictures my friend sent me to our recent trip to the zoo. Owen has now been to the zoo twice in the last 2 weeks. He loves looking at the animals. I have a feeling we will be going there quite a bit (especially to get out of the house during the winter!)
