The Latest

Hello!
So nothing too exciting to report this week. We had ECFE on Tuesday and I didn't get scolded once! Owen had a great time playing with sand and whacking a beach ball from the ceiling. The teacher also pulled out the parachute at circle time and Owen found that fascinating (until he noticed a book with a bunny on it on the shelf!) Yesterday, we went to Como Zoo with Amy. Owen was a bit more timid with the big animals this time but had a great time nonetheless. The animals were in fine form so it was quite entertaining. (ie; the gorilla was picking his nose and eating its boogers, the giraffes were doing something equally disgusting--ha ha) Owen, of course, is still talking about the animals today. He also tried scrambled eggs today and I was so proud of him! He knew it too, because he went up to Tom and said "try" (because he tried the eggs!)
I don't have too many pictures this week. But, I did make him a berry smoothie the other day and he gobbled it up! Here are a few pics of that:

The only other things I've been busy with this week are painting and sewing! I thought it would be a grand idea to paint the laundry room and the guest bathroom upstairs. Needless to say, I am sick of it already. Especially, when I bought a gallon of paint that ended up looking terrible on the walls and I couldn't return it. I decided I'll just use that color in the guest bedroom. It's wonderful how I manage to create more work for myself! So, the laundry room is partially finished. I decided it would look better with white trim and cupboards so there is another project....Oh well--it'll get done eventually :)
I've also been plugging away at more baby gifts--lots of people having babies in the past couple of months! Burp cloths are fun to make and I find I am getting better at them--although they will never be perfect!
Last but not least, please keep your fingers and toes crossed and keep us in your prayers! I heard today that Southdale hospital has to lay off 30 full time equivalent jobs! I'm hoping that I am not low enough on the totem pole to be affected. But, if people on our unit are affected that could lead to schedules being rearranged... AGAIN. It could also potentially mean working on another floor. At this point, as long as I have my job I will be happy. I help with the income and we get insurance benefits through me so it is very important I have my job! I would not be happy working on another floor but beggars can't be choosers at this point! (I think that is how that saying goes....) Funny how we used to think nursing was such a secure field to be in.....Anyways, I'm trying really hard not to stress out about it yet. I will keep you posted! Alright-- I'm off to do some errands--hopefully it will provide some distraction! More later!
