Winter Getaway

Hello. Just had some pics (mostly of the lake-I didn't take any of where we stayed) to post from our little getaway last week so thought I'd do that quick. As most everyone goes back to work today it is just the start of my week off. So glad to be done with work--was late 2 days in a row (1st day roads were bad because it was snowing and I did not know it was snowing until I woke up! 2nd day I got stuck in the darn driveway) and among other things it was not such a fun weekend. Anyways....Tom surprised me a while back with plans to take a little trip up north for a couple nights stay at Larsmont Cottages near Two Harbors. It really is a great place. Since it is winter and it was mid-week I swear we were the only ones staying there the second night. Very quiet-almost eerie! But, we did a whole lot of nothing so it was quite nice. We stopped in Duluth for a little bit the first day and on the way out we went to Brighton Beach and our favorite Vietnamese restaurant that we used to frequent in college. (to the point that they knew us) So yeah, it was very relaxing. We did a lot of laying around, watching TV, reading magazines, playing Farkle! (I won!), eating, and I even finished a book. We went to a couple of great restaurants that I would definitely recommend. They are New Scenic Cafe (SO GOOD!!) and Nokomis Restaurant (just as good but fancier) So, although, it was not Mexico and there was snow it was still nice to get away and relax because, really, how often can you do that with an almost 3 year old? :) Speaking of him, it's been snowing all day so I got him to go outside since it isn't frigid. Tom snow blowed a path to the swingset and he went straight to the sand box of all things. Made me giggle. Forget snow when there is a sandbox with trucks and diggers galore. Ha. Here are the pics:
