Then, Owen did some germ sharing so I was sick all week. I am finally getting better, I think.
So that has been the extent of the past couple of weeks. I am doing a yoga class on Monday evenings which I enjoy immensely. I am also doing a small group thing through church on Wednesdays this month where we read a book and discuss it. Of course, I missed last week because of my cold. The book is called "When the game is over, it all goes back in the box." by John Ortberg. It's basically about priorities in life and what you want to achieve in your life. It really makes you think. Things that last forever are things like love, other people, your soul etc. but things that go back in the box when you die are all of those possessions, youth, health, money etc...it definitely made me think about how I want to live my life and the priorities I have or may need to change. Very interesting.
Other than that, not much else to report. I had a lovely weekend this past weekend. Hanni, Mom and Dad visited so that was quite nice. Owen even got to go show Grandma all of the animals at the Como zoo--he was super excited about that. We also walked through the conservatory. It is such a great place during the winter to go. So much greenery, moisture, and warmth. Love it! Well, that's about it. I am now working on trying to figure out how to get Owen to wake up at his normal time of 7:30 instead of 5:50 to 6:45. I love that days are getting longer but I wish it wasn't so light out so early in the morning! I was spoiled with the wake up of 7:30 AM so it's been a rough adjustment. We will see how it goes....I'll keep you posted. Have a lovely day!
Oh and just a couple of things Owen has done lately that impressed me. He never ceases to amaze me! I just figured I should make note of it somewhere since I have failed to keep the baby book updated! :)
First off, he is a puzzle machine. The 3+ puzzles do not phase him. He does them once or twice and has them mastered. He also managed to master an age 4+ puzzle with 35 pieces after doing that a few times as well. We are currently working on a 5+, 100 piece puzzle with a chimpanzee but this will take a while. I can barely do it!
This past Saturday, we went to the Minnesota zoo and on one of the walls are a bunch of animals...there was one picture of a monkey and what does Owen ask but, "is that a colobus?" Sure enough, it was a colobus! What?!
He also was watching Diego the other day and was like "oh look, there is a spectacled bear!" Huh? It just amazes me how much knowledge he retains from all of the animal books we read. I don't even know what a colobus is. Ha.
Owen and Auntie Hanni are so cool
Havin' fun with Grandma and Aunt Hanni
