This past weekend marked Owen's first official camping trip! I would say it was a success. We camped at Sawbill campground just on the edge of the BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area) We stayed Friday through Sunday and I would say that was just about perfect for Owen. The thing I was most worried about (Owen sleeping) turned out OK. All that fresh air really wore him out! He was only up once the first night and the second night he slept all the way through. Not bad for a little one who is used to routine! Never mind that it would take him 2 hours to fall asleep at night....Anyways, Owen had a blast with his Aunties and Grandma and Grandpa. He loved just wandering around, picking up sticks and rocks etc and playing with the water jug. He loves being outdoors so he had a lot of fun. We did take a little canoe ride from Sawbill lake over to Alton lake. Owen had kind of a hard time with that. He cried for the majority of it but only because he was so tired and because he had to sit still. Sitting still is somewhat hard for him :) Hopefully, canoe rides will get better as he gets older! Overall...we all had a great time and we can't wait to try it again! It was good to see everyone--thanks again for everything!
