A Boy & His Bugs

Greetings! It is a GORGEOUS day here (sunny and 63!) so we've been out enjoying the weather. I'm sure there won't be many more like it! This morning Owen was up an hour earlier than normal (I blame daylight savings) so we got a good start and headed out by 9 am to go eat breakfast at Birchwood Cafe--www.birchwoodcafe.com It is such a neat little place and delicious--wish it was closer! We then went and took a nice walk at Lake Nokomis. That is probably the one thing I miss about where we used to live so it was nice to take a little trip there as a family. After that, we came home and did some more playing outside. I discovered our house is covered with those stupid box elder bugs so Owen decided to step in and take charge and start taking them off the house. I then asked him if he wanted a jar so he could make a little house for them and collect them. He thought that was a great idea and really got into it. I absolutely love that he wanted to catch and touch the bugs--such a boy thing! Sometimes he doesn't even want to finger paint because his hands get all messy so I was completely thrilled when he decided playing with bugs was so fun! Gotta love our little boy! I had to capture this moment on camera so here they are--have a lovely day!

He slightly injured this one..

Look at my bugs!

One flew on his nose!
