Finger Painting Fun (the bigger the mess...the better!)

This past week, I decided to let Owen try out his new fingerpaints. I wasn't too sure how this was going to go but he had a blast! His initial reaction when he saw the plate of paints was to take a big scoop of red paint and taste it! I wasn't expecting him to do that--good thing it's non-toxic! Gross! Anyways, after I gave him a little sponge brush he went to town. He was a bit leery to use his hands (as evidenced by the multiple pictures I got of him with a disgusted look on his face) but I finally got him to splat his hands on the paper towards the end. He really got into yelling splat and slamming his hands down. It was quite fun to watch--but not so much fun to clean up! :)
Other than that, we are doing well. Owen continues to amaze me every day! Yesterday he did the cutest thing. He "hurt" his finger (sometimes the littlest thing bugs him) and so he gets up, walks over to me and says "kiss". Usually I give him a kiss to make it better but this time he asked.It was very sweet. He has also been very good about saying thank you and he can count to ten!! Well, sort of. Typically, he skips a few numbers here and there but he counted to 6 in the car today without skipping--I was impressed! Well, that's all for now. Just thought I'd post this before we head to the lake to celebrate Christmas with the Liesters! Happy New Year!!
