A New Hobby (and a new man room...)

Hello!
I was lucky enough to receive a sewing machine for Christmas from my wonderful parents. I used to sew here and there when I was younger but I haven't in years so I wanted to learn again as I felt I needed a new hobby. So...I just had to share with everyone my first project on the new sewing machine. I came up with the idea because we needed to buy a couple of baby gifts and I thought it would be way more fun to create them. A good friend had given me some burp cloths made out of cloth diapers so I thought I would try them for myself. They seemed easy enough...the first one I attempted is far from perfect but they got easier to make as I went along. They are all far from perfect (since I don't know if I'll ever be able to sew in a straight line) but they are cute enough! They were super fun to make and I have a feeling I am going to be addicted! I just had to post a few photos to show you the finished product.

And that leads me to my second project....Tom has always wanted a man room so he has a designated space down in the basement for his man room. He was able to paint and wallpaper it in a pretty short amount of time. It turned out quite nice. Now all he needs is his 50 inch flat screen TV to mount on the wall. It may be a while! But, a man can dream right? Anyways, Tom wanted some new pillows for the futon so I managed to sew one and will do the other one when I get a chance. Pillows are probably the easiest thing ever! It too has it's imperfections but I am far from perfect so it will have to do. I thought it turned out pretty nice for my first pillow!
