Fun in the Snow (or not so much fun) and More Owen-isms

Well, I can't believe Christmas is almost here! I just finished wrapping all of Owen's presents so I'm pretty excited to see his reaction. Santa will be coming Christmas Eve morn as I have to work Christmas day and Saturday and Sunday as well. Tom and I definitely picked the wrong career as far as getting holidays off goes! Tom gets holidays off but it seems our schedules didn't mesh well as far as when we each have time off..So, when I'm working Tom will be with his family to celebrate. Then, when he's working I will be with my family to celebrate after the new year. Doesn't make for a super fun Christmas but what can you do? It'll be nice to be able to spend Christmas together with just our little family and also to see my family later on so I'll take it!
So, I have been a bit behind but just thought I'd post a few pics of Owen out in the snow. After the first snowfall, Owen went out with Daddy and "helped" him shovel. He sure loves to get that little shovel out!! Today, Tom had the day off so we thought we would try doing a little sledding. It was Owen's first sledding adventure and let's just say he didn't love it....Tom went down with him once and that was enough for him! He was a bit scared to go so fast. We were at a little park and all he wanted to do was play on the playground--HA. Then, to end it all, Tom was pulling him in the sled and wasn't paying attention and tipped him over! Owen did a lovely face plant in the snow. Poor little guy was NOT happy! I think we'll stick to shoveling this year.....

Enjoy the photos and a few Owen-isms I've managed to write down lately:

"Sadie you be quiet! You. Don't. Bark!"

While he was supposed to be napping he was talking to his stuffed Santa instead..
"Hi Mr. Santa. What's your name? Ho, ho, ho. It's nice to meet you. Do you like my fun tattoo? (he had a little snowman tattoo) Ho Ho HO. "

The next day while he was supposed to be napping:
"SOMERSAULT! UNDERDOG!" He must have been doing some sort of gymnastics in his bed.

Tom says, "Are you disagreeable? Owen says, "No, I'm Owen Liester."

Answering his pretend cell phone, "What's going on man?"

Last night, driving home in the car:
He had a tone to his voice for listing off things, "I can have graham crackers, or fruit snacks, or goldfishies or whatever I want."

We must have driven by a nativity scene or something as he exclaims, "I saw baby Jesus! He was laying in his crib."

He got a present in the mail the other day (a sand and water table thingy--thanks Witzig grandparents!) and he wanted to put sand in it. I said that we didn't have any sand right now so he suggested we could get some in the sandbox outside. I said that the sandbox was all covered with snow right now and he responded, "we can get a snowblower and move ALL the snow and then get some sand." Owen is so practical. he he :)

Last but not least, Owen has been waking up in the morning and saying, "what are we going to do today?"

Well, that is all for now! I will be sure to post pics from Christmas as soon as I can! Have a blessed and wonderful Christmas!
