Merry Christmas!

Hope this finds everyone having or had a wonderful Christmas! Just thought I'd blog while our Christmas ham is cooking! We celebrated yesterday as I had to work today. I drove through the lovely snowstorm this AM but it didn't take me nearly as long as I had anticipated so that was great. Tomorrow may be another story...it is raining now which means I may be driving in ice tomorrow--BAH. I hope that is not the case! Anyways, yesterday was really a lovely Christmas Eve. Santa came in the morning and Owen was pretty excited about that. He was actually a little scared to go downstairs at first as he thought Santa was still down there (apparently he is a little scared of Santa!) and he wanted me to hold him but I told him Santa was gone so he was OK. Owen immediately saw his new lawnmower and was so excited! He has been playing with it since! We should have just bought him that and he would have been content--he wasn't too interested in opening presents but it didn't take him long to get into it. It was pretty fun to see how excited he was. After that we made a Christmas breakfast and then decided to go outside to enjoy the pretty snow. There is a reserve not too far from here with walking and cross country ski trails so we went there for a bit. We pulled Owen in his sled part way and Tom carried Owen part way. Owen is really paranoid he's going to take another dive in the sled so he doesn't like to be in it too long! It was a great walk--not too cold and the snow was beautiful. We then came home and made yummy homemade pizza. Tom then had to go to work for a half shift so after Owen's nap we attended the family service at church. It really is a lovely candlelight service and brings back fond memories of all of the candlelight services I attended as a child. What a great memory and something I hope Owen will remember too. Overall, it was a great Christmas Eve! Well.. this is getting long-winded and I should go check on dinner. Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday full of wonderful memories. Bring on the new year!
