A Day in the City

I'm going to try and make this long story short. Try is the key word.  : )
So...my dear Mom, sister and Grandma went to visit my other sister in Maine this past few days (lucky ducks) and were arriving back in town today. I was the lucky one to be their chaffeur. No, but really, I didn't mind at all!

Anyways, so I thought I would meet my lovely friend (and her super cute little girlies) in our old stomping grounds, in the city, at this great little pool (close to the airport) since it is like crazy hot here right now. Like jungle hot, I can't breathe hot, I don't want to step foot outside hot.....  I was thinking it would be all perfect timing...meet her in the morning then go pick up my fam at noon when they were supposed to fly in.  But, as I have been learning these days, things do not always go as planned.  So I come to find out, their flight was delayed.  (A little tip--Do not fly US Airways ever, just so you know) Not only was it delayed once leaving Maine but it was delayed again in Philly on their layover.  So...I thought I'd kill some time and go visit my other dear friend and her cutie pie Lukas.  So glad she let me come over for an impromptu visit. We had a nice lunch and I had some nice cuddle time with Lukas.
When my sister informed me of the 2nd delay I decided at that point I should just go home....I had like 5 hours to kill and I don't think my dear friend would have appreciated our company for that long. Come on, she's a new mama and probably wants to take a nap!  So...we drove the 40 minutes back home. And 2 hours later drove the 40 minutes back to the airport because my fam hopped a ride on Delta.  Oh well--no biggie. I'll do anything for my lovely fam! Plus, it was a fun day in the city with some great people. I need to do that more often!

Really mom, why are you making me do this?

I completely agree that no one should fly US Air - but it looks like you guys had a great time!
