OK--so the word Getaway looks really weird to me right now but regardless, that is what we did this past week! We took a little trip to see Tom's family at the lake. Tom's sister and her main man DeMille from Las Vegas were there so that was nice since we hardly ever get to see them. Tom's other sister (who lives close to us) also came with half her family. :) (We missed you Lauren and Chad!)
She brought her son, Kyle, and his friend, Andrew. Such nice boys they are. Owen really looks up to them and I think the boys like the attention...like they are really something special : ) They played really great together and Owen wanted to do everything they were doing. So darn cute.
The weather was not so awesome--pretty windy, not super warm. It rained a bit one day. But, we still managed to get some time outside. It is a must if you're at the lake! Owen had a good ol' time playing in the playhouse and sandbox, fishing with all of the boys (by that I mean Daddy and Grandpa too), digging for vegetables in the garden, playing games with his buddies, watching the Planet Earth DVD with Grandma (who wasn't feeling well--see my previous post) and getting a quick swim over at the other side of the lake where it wasn't windy! Which, I didn't get pics of --I stayed back so I could read my book! Gotta take some time for myself, ya know?!
Oh and I have to add...the boys are lucky they even got to fish off the dock! Some swallows built a nest under the boat cover and they were very protective of their babies in that nest. Every time you stepped on the dock you literally would get dive bombed! It was a bit humorous if you ask me--although I was pretty afraid to step foot on that dock--ha!
Luckily, the second day we were there the babies finally spread their wings..so we were able to enjoy some time on it.
All in all, it was a lovely time. So great to spend time with some great family. Boy--did I luck out when I married Tom! : )
Thanks Bill and Pam for having us! Especially when you weren't feeling so great Pam! Feel better soon--our thoughts and prayers are with you!
Now for some photo overload...

These are great photos but I really want to comment on your music. I typically have my sound off but your music is quite lovely and I'v efound myself downloading some of the songs. Love it.
Lovely pictures and that is a seriously overgrown zucchini. I thought it might be some squash! Ha-ha!
