I've been waiting and waiting to share this but I've been waiting for the link to arrive on the website! Anyways...my friend (thanks Clara!!) told me about a photo contest National Camera Exchange was having this summer so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I figured it didn't hurt to try and there was nothing to lose. It was a contest where you submitted photos about what you like most during Minnesota summers. So I entered a few photos and lo and behold...I get a call a couple of weeks ago saying I won 3rd place! You can't imagine my surprise. I was quite flattered. It's not like I've been doing this photography thing for years so it felt pretty good, very encouraging. : ) Last week I took my little prize and purchased my very first canvas. I can't wait to see it and hang it on our wall. (it's of Owen of course!) I'm hoping to slowly add to the gallery as well...that may take a while but it is a goal of mine!

So yes, I am humbled and grateful. And thankful for this gift I have been given. Photography has been a great outlet for me. Looking forward to continuing to grow and learn too :)
